My day has toyed with my emotions.

It's been an up and down day today.

I forgot to buy tickets to Puscifer on Friday. Today, there was no seating available in the balcony, except in single seats. Was pondering going by myself since I have that weekend off.

However, I decided I wouldn't go.
Main reason: I need to buy 4 4-day passes to Comic Con. Then of course, there is the 4 day stay in San Diego. So that's some $$$ coming outta pocket! But I'm ok with that. I really want to go see Sherrilyn Kenyon there, hopefully Dean Koontz will be there again...but I doubt it, I don't believe he has another Oddie graphic novel coming out. I will have to look that up. Also, I'm "meeting" other authors on Twitter that will be there as well. Another major bonus: We may take the squishies with us! They are so into Spiderman, Batman, Hulk...they love them some "PowPows" lol! I think they'd enjoy it...kinda a strange Disneyland type experience for them. hee.

On a good note...I won 2 tickets to an event of my choice @ The Roxy in LA!! I'm excited about that! I think I need to use them by the end of June, so I have a while to decide. All I had to do was follow them on twitter. They will be doing this all of March on Mondays. So if you twitter, are in SoCal, give them a follow next Monday!

My Blessed Thurday

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I've not been feeling well. I had to call off work the last two days...which is not good. Economy is not great, and I'm up for my annual review. No, not good at all.

I blame my doctor. My primary MD changed my prescripton that was given to me by my GI doctor. I shouldn't have listened, because I ended up with severe nausea and vomiting...again. So I'm starting to feel better as I've gone back to the original prescription & will be seeing the GI doc next. bah.

Well...that wasn't why I was going to post. But it will help to put the following in to perspective for me and, hopefully, you too! Now, I'm not sure I posted it here or not because I didn't check before I started writing this, but I was offered a signed book by Ann Aguirre last week! Which was just so wicked cool when it happened!

While tweeting, I let her know I'd finally read Grimspace & really enjoyed it, and proceeded to tell her how I couldn't find my copy of Wanderlust. I'm sure I bought it! Really, I did...but it's lost. Anyway, she offered to send me a copy, and it arrived today!! I've already started reading it...totally ignoring the rest of my TBR! It's awesome. I already have a quote I like! lol.

Included with the signed copy, was a signed bookmark, & thank you card...for reading her book! Is that just the coolest or what? *fangirl*

I was really just so blessed and it really gave my spirits a boost when I got that package in the mail today! Btw...I'm saving the postage. I'm making it into a bookmark somehow! lol wha? It's not like I get a package from Mexico everyday! But...yeah. ima dork. ;p

*sidebar* Must add that my squishies came for a visit yestereday! They are so....eeee! I just want to bite them! Such lil' hawties! And they're getting so big!! V is now wearing size 10 shoes! He's not even 3 yet! His cousin, A...my lil' grandniece I bake with...she's 5 and wears a size 10!! lol I tell ya, they're growing like weeds. I, V's twin, is the smaller of the two, but he's growing so much too! *misty* They are all such little terrors blessings. Don't know what I'd do without them in my life!
*end sidebar*

Back to today...this evening I found out that I won a copy of Men of the Otherworld by Kelley Armstrong through Bitten by Books! btw...I found Bitten by Books via twitter! I lovin' me some Twitter today! lol

I'm very excited to get this new book by new-for-me author!

Ok, that's been my blessed Thursday! Hope you've had a good week and an even better weekend!

BDB Insider Guide & Family stuff

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I'm sssoooo excited!

I received my BDB newsletter and it said that it was out today...but I was at B&N and it was not out! gah!!
Good thing I hadn't seen the newsletter prior to going our I'd have freaked on them!

Was bummed because I couldn't find the Dark-Hunter Companion...which I need to buy so I can get it signed on my NOLA trip!! woooohhoo!

It is much needed. This past week has been tiring...and quite honestly...I was not directly related to M.

Wait...back up...I haven't posted about this...my sil's (2 of them/sisters) father died last Monday of a hemmorhagic stroke. It was so surprising. The funeral service was held on Friday. He will be cremated tomorrow. Last night my sil's mother passed out for a few seconds and she was ill. We think it was a low blood sugar, but they had already fed her some food. So her blood sugar was by the time I got there to check it, her BP was quite high. So they to her to the MD today. They will be watching her more closely, making sure she's eating and drinking, taking her meds...which she forgot to take. She needs to rest...which she wasn't as she's had so much company. They are a large family.
Poor thing...50 years they were together...9 children, 30+ grandchilren, plus greatgrandchildren!!

It's just been a long weekend...and I was even involved with very much. I can only begin to imagine what my sil's is going through. My brothers are taking it hard too.

I've got to get to bed...but was having a hard time doing so even though I've only had about 4 hrs of sleep since yesterday 0730. I'm not a spring chicken, my peeps. I do not do well on little sleep anymore.

Work the next two days and the weekend...I'm having a hard time finding time to plan my trip to New Orleans...and it's now less 2 weeks away!! oi...I keep thinking...I'm wiping out my savings!!
But I'm so excited to be going! I don't know if I'll ever do something like this again...so I'm going to enjoy it!!

ok...i'm babbling now...so I shall retire.
Blessing to all!
